Redial ended with an error: gather the diagnosis before starting again

An error ended a session; it did not explain the cause

If AutoRedial ends a session with an error, check what happened before opening an identical one. The app documents session history and diagnostics, but an error state alone does not establish whether its origin is configuration, Android, the SIM or carrier service. Repeating calls may repeat the symptom without explaining it.

First check that you are not leaving an active redial session, and distinguish that session from a call already in progress. AutoRedial never automatically hangs up an active call: ending the cycle and ending the conversation are different controls.

Keep a minimal case note

Without copying an address book or sharing real numbers, gather what you can check. This is a proposed note for yourself or to prepare a support query, not a transcript of fields we claim are present in the diagnostics screen:

  • Device model and Android version.
  • Installed AutoRedial version and whether it remains the default phone app.
  • Whether you used one or two SIMs and which you selected for this attempt.
  • Answer wait, interval, maximum attempts and retry conditions you configured.
  • Approximate error time and the exact displayed message, if you retained it.
  • What the session history reports and what remains unknown.

If you lack a detail, write “not checked”. Do not turn “it ended earlier than expected” into “the carrier blocked the call” without supporting evidence. Likewise, having diagnostics does not guarantee a conclusive cause will be available.

Separate three checks before deciding

App configuration. Review the default dialer, destination and conditions you selected. AutoRedial requires Android 10 or later and must be the default phone app. Increasing maximum attempts does not necessarily correct a problem with those requirements.

Calling service. Check service and SIM status through the options your device or carrier provides. If an ordinary call you actually need also cannot be made, that is useful information for a service query; it does not itself diagnose an AutoRedial fault. Do not use emergency numbers to test redial: the product excludes them from the automatic cycle.

Cycle outcome. A session can also end when a call connects, the attempt limit is reached or you stop it. Do not label those outcomes errors simply because you did not speak to the person. The official facts page describes these limits; interpret history alongside the particular session.

If you need help, bring the case rather than your address book

A fictional summary might be: “On my device, this session ended with this message. I selected this SIM and these retry conditions. I checked the default dialer; I have not yet checked carrier service.” Replace each part only with what you observed. Before sharing diagnostic material, check whether it contains numbers, names or notes the recipient does not need.

Use the support link on the official facts page if the case remains unclear. AutoRedial is a paid application available on Google Play; check its store for current price and compatibility. Gathering useful information does not guarantee a repaired connection, and starting another session should remain a deliberate decision for a call you need to make.
