If you only need to leave brief information, decide whether an SMS serves your next step better than another call. AutoRedial publishes SMS access from contact cards alongside calls and redial sessions. Having repeat calling available does not require using it for every pending item.
State what you need to communicate first
Fictional example: you wanted to tell someone you know that their book is ready to collect. Nothing needs resolving by voice and you need no immediate reply. You might prepare “I have the book; let me know when collecting it works for you” rather than start a session to obtain a conversation.
This is original wording advice, not an installed quick reply or a promise the recipient reads SMS. Consider your agreed channel and verify the number belongs to the intended person before choosing.
Use the contact card to choose a channel
The AutoRedial brief, checked on 27 October 2026, documents contact cards with SMS, WhatsApp and shortcut access. For this case, locate the correct contact, select SMS if appropriate and review the recipient and text in the flow that opens before sending.
We do not assert that AutoRedial reads the reply, records message content as a conversation or turns a calling session into automatic messages. Accessing a channel and completing communication are different states.
Decide an existing session’s state separately
Opening another channel does not establish that redial stopped. If a session already exists and you want no more attempts, use its stop controls and check its state. The documentation allows stopping from the app or notification; it never automatically hangs up an active call.
You do not need a new session to use a contact card. If you do need to speak, you can choose an ordinary call or a session with configurable conditions. Decide from the purpose rather than a desire to increase a counter.
Sent does not mean agreed
After the example message, collection may still need agreement. Do not turn your suggestion into a confirmed appointment or immediately follow with repeated calls because you saw no reply. Review the actual channel and next step; this article prescribes no universal follow-up interval.
AutoRedial is a paid dialler for Android 10 or later and must be configured as default. Visit the product and its official Google Play link for current availability and compatibility. If the next step is leaving text, prepare the message and recipient while keeping control of calls yourself.
