Started another session? Earlier calls still count

A new session does not erase earlier calls

Before starting another session for the same matter, review earlier attempts too. AutoRedial supports a maximum attempt count per session and a history with attempts and outcomes. That maximum organises one session; deciding to call again needs to account for what already happened.

We are not describing an app-wide daily limit or a universal appropriate number of calls. The recipient, purpose and information received may make waiting, another channel or ending the contact attempt preferable.

Two sessions, five attempts: a reading example

Invented example: the first session records three unanswered attempts. Later, another records two unanswered attempts. If both concern the same matter, that is five attempts, even if the latest record shows two. They are not five conversations or five confirmations that anyone saw the call.

Before considering a third session, check whether another channel already brought a reply, whether the timing remains appropriate and whether another call is needed. That uses context you know: we do not attribute an automatic global counter by matter or conversation-content recognition to AutoRedial.

What to inspect before starting again

  • Identify records relevant to the number and matter you are reviewing. The matter is your context, not a promised automatic classification field.
  • Read attempts and outcomes in each relevant session. Do not count notes summarising an earlier record as additional calls.
  • If there was a connection, review what actually happened: the app does not analyse audio to distinguish an automated greeting from a person when Android marks connection.
  • Decide whether to continue. Review destination, SIM and next-session settings only if that remains your choice.

History helps review records; it does not establish that the recipient wants another call. You need not create another session to keep a private note about the matter.

The controls remain yours

The official Google Play listing documents session configuration, history and dependence on the device, SIM and carrier. The product brief explains that sessions stop on connection, reaching the maximum, an error or user action. The app never automatically hangs up an active call; you can also stop a session from its notification.

AutoRedial is a paid Android 10+ app that must be the default phone app. Check current availability and compatibility before buying. If you already use it, read the relevant history before choosing another session rather than restarting your count from zero.
