Calls work without Internet; the contact’s WhatsApp needs a different connection

Check the channel as well as the number

AutoRedial running its cycle without Internet does not let a WhatsApp message send offline. Contact cards offer WhatsApp and SMS access; those options do not turn a redial session into a messaging service.

When deciding to stop calling and write instead, check three things: the session’s state, the message recipient and the connection required by your chosen channel.

From a call attempt to a decision to write

Fictional example: you tried to reach someone about an everyday matter and would prefer to leave a message they can answer when convenient. You need not keep retrying while preparing that change of plan.

Stop the session using its control or notification, as described in the AutoRedial facts. Remember that stopping retries does not hang up an active call: an already connected conversation has different controls.

Then review the contact card’s number and the channel access you want. A familiar contact name does not establish that its number is current, and entering another app is not the same as sending something.

One connection does not establish the other

AutoRedial needs no account, telemetry or Internet to run its local cycle. This does not guarantee that the telephone network connects the call. WhatsApp requires an active Internet connection to send and receive messages, according to its help centre.

The practical consequence: being able to call does not establish that a WhatsApp message will leave. Check the chosen service’s connection and its own sending state. This guide attributes no message delivery, reading or recipient response to AutoRedial.

Check before treating the change as complete

  • Did you stop the redial session if you no longer want retries?
  • Is the recipient’s number still correct?
  • Does the message explain your request without unnecessary information about others?
  • Have you checked sending in the relevant channel?

AutoRedial is a dialler for Android 10 or later and must be the default dialler. It is a paid Google Play app; check current conditions from the product website. Contact access helps you choose a channel, while the decision to send and the contents remain yours.
